Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman JNPort welcomes Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, I.R.S, as Deputy Chairman

Mr. Wagh has nearly 20 years of experience. He was an Assistant Commissioner in Customs and Central Excise, Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He was also an Additional Director DRI, Ahmedabad and Additional Commissioner, CGST, Vadodara-I, among other postings. He worked as Under Secretary Tax Research Unit (TRU) and Director Excise in Ministry of Finance. He also worked on deputation to ministry of IT & Communication, Home & Coal at Delhi. He has experience of intelligence gathering, as well as detecting commercial fraud, Customs duty evasion and smuggling. Mr. Wagh was Commissioner of customs (Port) in Kolkata, just prior to this appointment.

Two units of JNPT-SEZ have started their construction activity and are expected to make their initial phase operational by March 31, 2020

In JNPT-SEZ around 400 acres of total land is to be allotted on lease for 60 years. As per process JNPT-SEZ land allotment is carried out through e-tender cum auction process. Till date 3 round of tender process are completed and 4th round tender process is in progress. 16 investors are allotted land of @ 30 Ha (ie 75 acres) till date
