Central Industrial Security Force was inducted in Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority on 01st December 1984 with an initial strength of 79. Keeping in view the extension and increasing movement of men & material, the unit was re-surveyed and from time to time and its present is strength to 563. The CISF unit at Jn port is headed by Senior Commandant. At each vital installation, the armed static guard is provided round the clock. Quick Reaction Team equipped with weapon takes regular rounds at the Vital Installation continuously round the clock on dedicated transport. CISF Unit JNPA Sheva has trained the Bomb Detection and Disposal Team to neutralize the explosive threat. CISF Unit JNPA Sheva has well-trained Sniffer and tracker dogs to detect explosives. CISF has two dedicated high-speed water patrolling boats deployed with Marine commandos with automatic weapons to secure the JNPA port limit. Entry passes of Men and materials are issued by CISF as per the PFSP(Port Facility Security Plan) approved in compliance with ISPS(International Ship and Port Facility Security) code. Gate automation system was introduced in Sep 2018 in which CISF verifies the details of containers and vehicles before allowing entry/exit. The entire port area is under CCTV surveillance with 16 PTZ and 52 Fixed and 01 Thermal imaging Camera round the clock monitoring by CISF personnel is carried at designated CCTV Control Room. CISF Control Room at JN port 24x7 manning by CISF, contact No-022-67815331,02267815332 To detect the exit of illegal radiological source into the country, JNPA (Through ECIL) has installed RDEs at all import gates.40 Radiological Detection equipment has been installed at the exit points on road and rail and 02 LIMB Monitor installed at the pedestrian gate. These equipment are monitored/operated by trained CISF personnel.
