One of the key advantages JNPA offers as a Port is close proximity to Mumbai, the economic capital of India and also a strongly connected network of rail and roadways network from other major cities across the country. The accessibility to the Port is very critical for key stakeholders as it makes Trade convenient and provides ease of doing business. We are looking to strengthen this network and have planned many projects in and around the Port area to enhance our connectivity and make it beneficial for trade and commuter traffic. Two major initiatives include the Dedicated Freight Corridor along the Western line (DFC) from JNPA leading up to Delhi and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL). The DFC railway line will allow faster evacuation and direct transport of cargo to the designated markets with ease, while the MTHL project aims to connect Mumbai mainland with Navi Mumbai, but it will also prove beneficial for the Port, as it will enhance its accessibility.
Needless to say, most of the Global shipping line companies and related business have their India HQ at Mumbai, which automatically benefits all the players in the maritime sector, a definite business edge.
