BPCL Liquid Cargo Terminal

JNPA  presently handles liquid cargo  through  Liquid Cargo Terminal operated by M/s BPCL. The liquid cargo terminal (LB01/LB02) was  developed  on BOT basis  as per the licence  awarded to M/s. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and M/s. Indian Oil Corporation Limited in August 1999 for the construction of a twin-berth liquid cargo jetty for 30 years. The twin-berth liquid cargo jetty is functional from 14th Oct 2002.

 

The salient features of BPCL liquid Cargo Terminal are as follows:

 i.  A twin berth liquid cargo jetty for handling liquid cargo including POL products 

ii.  300 meters long and 40.5 meters. wide Jetty. 

iii.  Can accommodate two vessels: 120,000 DWT in the seaside berth & 45,000 DWT on the side berth. 

iv.  The dredged draft on the seaside is 15 meters. and 10.5 meters. onshore side.

v.   Mooring Dolphins are provided at both ends of LB01/LB02 to facilitate double berthing of vessels.

vi.  The capacity of 7.2 million tonnes per annum.

vii.  The jetty is provided with six 12' diameter marine loading and unloading arms, 2 Loading arms with 16'' diameter, 2 loading arms with 8" diameter, fire fighting system as per OISD 156 norms and state-of-art environmental protection measures.

viii.  23 nos of pipelines of different sizes varying from 8” to 30” diameter are connected to jetty from tank farms for handling various types of cargo like  POL products, edible oil, chemicals, acids etc.

Additional Liquid Cargo Berth (JSW JNPT Liquid Terminal Private Limited)

To ease pressure on the existing BPCL liquid jetty and to cater to additional liquid cargo demand, JNPA has developed an Additional Liquid Cargo Berths (ALCB) LB03/LB04 on EPC mode. Interim operation of   ALCB started on 06.03.2024 by extending 3 no of edible oil pipeline to LB03/LB04 to handle edible oil vessels. JNPA has appointed a concessionaire, M/s JSW JNPT Liquid Terminal Private Limited to operate  Additional Liquid Cargo Berths  LB03/LB04 on PPP mode and a concession agreement signed on 08/04/2024. The ALCB will be fully operational by March 2024 for handling various types of cargo like  POL products, edible oil, chemicals, acids etc.

Pipeline Connectivity

19 nos of pipelines of different sizes varying from 8” to 24” diameter will be extended to LB03/LB04 from LB01/LB02 for handling various types of  cargo like  POL products, edible oil, chemicals, acids etc
