Details of its Business
JNPA is a sea port commissioned under 26th May 1989 under Major Port Trust Act, 1963. In three decades of its operations, JNPA has transformed from a bulk cargo terminal to become the premier container port in the country. Currently, JNPA operates five container terminals- NhavaSheva Free Port Terminal (NSFT), Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), Gateway Terminals India Private Limited (GTIPL), Nhava Sheva International Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) and Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (BMCTPL). The Port also has a shallow water berth for handling containers, liquid, cement, general cargo and twin berth liquid cargo terminal which is managed by BPCL-IOCL consortium. JNPA has developed a dedicated Coastal Berth having capacity of 2.5 MMTPA to handle Coastal Cargo Traffic.
