Overview
Welcome to a one-of-a-kind 277 hectares multi-product SEZ located next to Jawaharlal Nehru Port, India's leading container port. This industrial hub, inaugurated by Hon'ble PM of India Shri Narendra Modi in 2014, is meticulously designed with state-of-the-art infrastructure to boost export-oriented industries in India. Being in close proximity to JNPA, the project promises ready availability of raw material, access to global markets and strong multi-modal connectivity.
Access to upcoming multi-modal infrastructure projects including New Mumbai airport, DFC rail corridor, Trans-harbor road link further increases the attractiveness of JNPA SEZ as a manufacturing destination. JNPA SEZ aims to set a new benchmark in port-led industrialization, and thus play a key role in Ministry of Shipping's Sagarmala vision.

JNPA Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Stands operational
6 units in JNPA SEZ have generated their first invoice from their JNPA SEZ unit and are declared operational unit and thus JNPA SEZ is now first Port based operational multi product SEZ from June 2020 PAN India. Another 6 units have started their construction activities and are planning to commence their operations soon. M/s. NSBPL have started construction for their FTWZ unit on the plot allotted to them. JNPA SEZ provides single window clearance for approvals about the units which are given possession in JNPA SEZ. This is facilitated as JNPA is awarded the Special Planning Authority (SPA) and Electrical distribution licensee status by GoM as per SEZ Act provisions. The approval of the Development control regulation for the JNPA SEZ area is approved by GoM on 21/09/2021, thus JNPA SEZ will be aim for utilizing the maximum potential of the SEZ land for industrial development A dedicated electric substation of 45 MVA capacity is commenced. Environmental Clearance and Consent to establish is received. The development of infrastructure is completed and the units are provided with all necessary support to commence their operations.

JNPA SEZ has a geo-centric advantage of being well-connected locally and globally. It has the location advantage of being in close proximity to Mumbai, the economic capital of India. Being less than 5 km away from the JNPA Port, this industrial zone has direct access to global markets via JNPA's Container Terminals. Once ready, the proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport is just 15 km away.
The SEZ is directly connected to state and national highways. Road transportation will be facilitated further with the up-gradation of state and national highways to 6-8 lane roads and with the upcoming Sewri - Nhava road connecting the JNPA SEZ area to Eastern Mumbai. JNPA is on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, offering ready access to markets in the north.

JNPA SEZ being a Deemed Distribution Licensee is authorized to get electric power supply through competitive bidding under open access comparatively at lesser rate which will ultimately benefit the allottees of JNPA SEZ
Incentives to Unit Holders
In order to achieve the stated aim of SEZs, the government. has provided multiple incentives to Unit Holders and co-developers for SEZ operations.
1 Duty-free import/domestic procurement of goods for development, operation, and maintenance of SEZ units
2 Stamp duty exemption
3 External commercial borrowing by SEZ units up to the US $ 500 million in a year without any maturity restriction through recognized banking channels.
4 Zero-rated GST on procurement of goods and services
5 Exemption available to SEZ units who started operations before 31st March 2020
Note: The key requirement for Unit Holders in the SEZ is to be "Net Foreign Exchange" positive when measured cumulatively over the 5 year period. Further, as per current rules, the income tax exemptions are available for all units that start operations before 30-March 2020.
Commissioning of SEZ JNPA Fire Station
In order to mitigate fire and medical emergencies in and around SEZ area, JNPA has procured one Multipurpose Fire Tender, one Water Bouser and one Ambulance for JNPA SEZ at a cost of rs. 4.5 Cr. All these three machineries will be stationed 24*7 at SEZ Fire Station.
Fire Safety Advisor has been already appointed and we are also in process for engaging trained Fire Personnel for this fire station.
In addition, action has been taken for imarting training to 30 Nos. of PAP candidates for Fireman cadre at State Fire Training Centre.
Details of equipment
1. The Multipurpose Fire Tender:- It has been Designed & Built to accomodate the Fire Fighting media like water, foam, DCP and CO2 in a single unit to combat all types of Fire. The water tank capacity is 6000 Ltrs., Foam tank capacity 1000 Ltrs., Dry Chemical powder vessel of 1000 Kg and 22.5 kg CO2 Fire Extinguishers.
2. Water Bouser:- The Water Bouser is fabricated to carry 0f 6000 Lpm @ 8 bar pressure. The main purpose of the water bouser is to cater the additional water requirement in case of major fire.
3. Ambulance:- The Ambulance is having all first Aid facilities, other accessories and stretchers to carry casualities and patients.
Inauguration of three nos. of Tata Nexon e-vehicle for JNPA SEZ
Given the Climate change the world is facing, India has embarked on an ambitious e-mobility plan. Electric Vehicles(EV) represent one of the most promising pathway to reduce the carbon emmissions and improve air quality. The National E-Mobility Programme of Govt of India is a step towards ushering in an era of clean, green and future orinted technologies in the country.
In this direction, JNPA SEZ hired 03 Nos. of energy efficient, environment friendly, Tata Nexon E-Vehicles with slow charging facilities, on dry lease
