JN Port handled 68.45 million tonnes of total cargo during the financial year 2019-20. The containerized cargo was 60.94 million tonnes (89.03%), the liquid cargo was 6.45 million tonnes (9.42%), and the remaining 1.06 million tonnes (1.55%) was a miscellaneous cargo of Dry Bulk (Cement) and Break Bulk.

JN Port handled 5.03 million TEUs of container traffic during the financial year 2019-20, reduced by 1.99% from the previous annual container handling of 5.13 million TEUs during the year 2018-19. Of the total traffic of 5.03 million TEUs, the share of the Port operated JNPCT was 0.72 million TEUs (14.29%), the share of NSICT was 0.53 million TEUs (10.56%), 1.99 million TEUs (39.46%) were contributed by M/s. APM Terminals (Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd.), 0.99 million TEUs (19.61%) were contributed by M/s. Nhava Sheva (India) Gateway Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (NSIGT) and the remaining 0.81 million TEUs (16.08%) were handled by PSA’s Terminal Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. The container handled at JNPT constitutes about 50.37% of total container traffic handled by all the Indian Major Ports (9.99 million TEUs).
