I hereby authorise you to pay to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust having its office at Administration Building, Sheva, Navi Mumbai 400 707, assessed to Income Tax under this charge any sum by way of lease rental, contract/subcontract charges, interest income, royalty etc. without deducting tax at source as per relevant provisions of Income Tax Act 1961.
2. This certificate is being issued after considering the facts of the case and at the request of the above mentioned assessee/local authority vide its letters dated 19th Sept.2005.
3. This certificate shall remain in force from 01.10.2005 to 31.03.2006, until and unless withdrawn by the undersigned.

TRADE NOTICE
 
Sub: Fixing Bottle seal on all laden containers to be handled at JNP Container Terminal.
Ref: JNPT's Trade Notice dated 3rd September 2005.
 
This has reference to JNPT's above-mentioned Trade Notice dated 3rd September 2005 issued regarding fixing of bottle seal on all laden import and export containers to be handled at JNP Container Terminal. As requested by EXIM Trade partners and in line with prevailling practices, the Port has taken cautious decision to exclude following category of laden containers from fixing bottle seal:
* Tank Containers
* ODC and Flat rack containers
* Open door containers carrying perishable cargo In order to facillitate handling of import and export laden containers with mandatory bottle seal (excluding above category of containers), the procedure as set in the Trade Notice dated 3rd September 2005 shall be strictly complied with effect from 1st November 2005.

TRADE NOTICE
Keeping in view the need to provide assistance to Tsunami affected victims and join hands with various organizations in their efforts to transport necessary relief materials to notified tsunami affected areas, it is decided to offer the following incentives to the trade and industry from 4th Jan 2005 to 31st Jan 2005.

100% waiver on applicable cargo related charges payable to J.N.P.T will be considered on every container stuffed with relief materials and handled at J.N.P container terminal subject to declaration of same in writing by the concerned shipping line and forwarding the name of the exporter/organization along with the details of relief materials transported in the designated container and name of the Tsunami affected area.

If any vessel calling at J.N Port is declared in writing by the vessel agent/shipping line stating that all cargo on board and/or to be loaded at J.N Port is chartered for transportation of relief materials to the notified Tsunami affected area 100% waiver on applicable vessel related charges payable to the J.N Port for the said call will be considered after submission of supporting documents. Priority berthing will be considered to such vessels without payment of applicable notified charges to the Port against written request to the J.N.P.T. by the concerned shipping line.

Sub: Remittance of Port related charges in Electronic Form through         EFT/RTGS/ECS.
 

A trade notice regarding remittance of port related charges in Electronic form through EFT/RTGS/ECS was issued vide No. JNP/Fin.C&B/34, dated 30th July 2004, wherein it was requested to Port Users to remit port related charges in electronic form through EFT/RTGS/ECS w.e.f. 9th August 2004. On the request of Port Users, the date was further postponed to 23rd August 2004.

Since then, we are receiving all remittance in Electronic form. It is observed that even though it was requested in para 2 of the procedure stated in earlier trade notice that while remitting money in electronic form details like Via No., Party code, type of payment viz. vessel related charges, cargo related charges and details regarding estate realted charges should be mentioned in space for narrations provided by bankers, the same is not strictly being complied by majority of the Port Users.

These details are essential for issuing receipt and crediting respective party/vessel. It is therefore once again informed to all Port Users that unless these details are provided while remitting in electronic form, it will not be possible to issue receipt and credit the respective Port Users account and for calculating penal interest, date of recipt issue will only be considered.

This trade notice is issued for information and necessary action to all concerned.

Sub: Revision of Vessel Related Charges at JNPT.
 

The Tariff Authority for Major Ports have passed an order on 10th August 2004 for implementing its earlier order dated 4th May 2004. In the order dated 4th May 2004, the TAMP has made a suo-moto reduction of all vessel related charges at JNPT by 10%.

TAMP has advised that its latest oeder dated 10th August 2004 must be implemented within 15 days of notification in the official gazette. The order was notified in the official gazette on 17th August 2004 and therefore the revised vessel related charges will be effective from 1st September 2004.

The revised schedule of vessel related charges implementing the 10% reduction is annexed.

This trade notice alongwith annexure is issued for the information of all concerned.

TRADE NOTICE
Sub: Remittance of Port Related Charges in Electronic Form through EFT/RTGS/ECS.
 

During various meetings by the Ministry of I.T. and Cabinet Secretary, it has been observed that JNPT being the most modern Port has not been able to achieve it target in implementing the EDI for its Bank transaction.  In order to facilitate remittance,  a decision was taken by the Port to open accounts with scheduled Banks also and accordingly we have opened an account with HDFC Bank. Only 3 parties are transacting through HDFC Bank even though this was available to Port Users since more than one year.
 
            Now, as per RBI directive, under RTGS facility the Port Users may remit from their account in any Bank in Mumbai or outside electronically.  Accordingly, remittances be made to our account with the following Banks:

You are requested to advise your Bankers to remit the money electronically under RTGS/EFT/ECS facility to our account directly.  It is further decided that no remittance will be received by JNPT FROM 9th AUGUST 2004 onwards unless the same is transferred electronically.  The procedures to be followed is given below :

 
1.     The remittances can be made to JNPT accounts as mentioned above through RTGS/EFT/ECS services on account of fund transfer.
 
2.     The Port Customers are advised to furnish the Remittance details which should include particulars like VIA No., Party Code, Type of payment viz., Vessel related charges, cargo related charges in case of Port related charges.  In case of Estate related payment, Party Code, area and months for which payment is related should be given.
 
3.     Remittance for different types of payments should be made separately without clubbing them with a view to have clarity.
 
4.     Payments will not be deemed to have been received unless our Banker gives credit confirmation.
 
5.     Initially, the Port Customers are requested to collect remittance advices from their Banks and forward the same to CDC for collecting receipt, till the present system is fully stabilized. 
 
6.     The refund will be made electronically through State Bank of India, and Bank of India, Sheva.
 
7.     This will not be applicable for remittances like payment towards cost of Tender, EMD etc.
