Jawaharlal Nehru Port is ISPS compliant since 2004, presently the Statement of Compliance issued on 1st July 2014 is valid till 18th June 2019 subject to annual verification audit carried out (Range: 18th June, +/- 3months.)
The Marine Department of the port has installed and commissioned Radiological Detection Equipment’s (RDE), 28 VMS (Vehicles Monitoring System) and 2 nos. of Limb Monitors at all the exit gates including the Rail Gates. As per MOS directives, the work was awarded to M/S Electronics Corporation of India (ECIL) at a total cost of Rs. 23.324 crores. The project has now been completed with the installation and commissioned of all the equipment.
Six Local Control Stations have been commissioned at individual gates and connected to the Main Control Station through Optic Fiber.
ECIL has demonstrated the functionality of the system with the radiation source and it is found that the system is working satisfactorily.
