Work of widening of National Highway 4B (into 8 laning) & NH-348A (into 6 Laning) has commenced.

Dappar is conveniently located on the National Highway between Ambala and Chandigarh and is a half an hour drive from Chandigarh and Ambala. The terminal intends to cater to the traffic of the industrial hinterland of Chandigarh, Haryana, Baddi area in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. In fact, it was a long felt need of the trade to have this facility in this area. The cargo, which is hitherto moving to Tughlakabad and Mumbai and other Western Gateway Ports, can be handled here and after its custom clearance, can move directly to the Ports for onward shipment on Vessels. The terminal has the direct connectivity to all the ports and regular train services will be run on regular basis based on the demand of the traffic. It has a full rake length siding as such a full rake with a complement of 90 containers can be handled easily.
RCT/Dappar is equipped with modern state of art infrastructure. It has all the facilities required for handling of containers and domestic cargo. To handle containers efficiently, latest technology cranes have been positioned. There is one Loaded Reach Stacker, one loaded sling crane & trailer for movement of 20/40’ loaded/empty boxes. All modern and latest practices of containers handling and storage are followed for seamless operation and for the benefit of the trade. We have a terminal management system for EXIM and Domestic traffic. All activities are performed with the computer generated job orders. There is no room for manipulation of any transaction. Transparency in all the activities is maintained all the time
In order to have a fast connectivity to all the nodal points we have satellite communication system installed at the terminal through this we maintain regular touch with all the Depots. There is a provision for on line track and tracing system of containers to which our customers can have access to know current location of their containers.We have fleet of wagons with latest technology, which run at a speed of mail express train and their running is monitored at Railway Board level. There is a plan to run these trains on regular basis to major ports & local destinations. CONCOR provides a liberal PDA facility to its customers and this will be extended to customers patronizing RCT/Dappar
